Kalyan Sayre

Kalyan (she/her) is a North Carolina native and New York transplant. She enjoys exploring a wide array of movement and expression with a background in dance. She studied dance at George Mason University, where she was also a member of the Honors College. Kalyan has trained at programs including the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, B12, Pilobolus Summer Intensive, and Dance Italia. Kalyan has performed with companies and choreographers such as Stefanie Nelson Dance Group, The Yard, and Go.Co, The Moving Architects, Abby Bender, Shannon Yu/Sha Creative Outlet, Rachael Lieblein-Jurbala, and Madeline Hoak. In addition to her dance practice, Kalyan is a circus artist specializing in partner/group acrobatics and hand-balancing. Kalyan is especially excited by work that is collaborative and has elements of improvisation, explores floorwork and partnering/weight-sharing, as well as site-specific and immersive work outside of the traditional proscenium. In addition to her movement and creative efforts, Kalyan has spent time farming and gardening and is a heliotrope at heart.
